Preconception: Preparing Your Body Before Pregnancy

Infants can be born with over 200 toxins in their umbilical cord. Part of preparing for pregnancy involves being aware of and reducing your body burden of toxins.

What we focus on:

  • Assess toxin burden — identify and reduce environmental exposures before conception
  • Supplement guidance — some people need more than just a standard prenatal vitamin. I wrote a whole book about it, but we can discuss your individual plan.
  • Essential oils — safely used for various pregnancy complaints. If you had issues during a prior pregnancy, we can come up with natural solutions so that more toxic, prescription methods can be avoided.

To be clear: I do not collaborate or communicate with your doctor. I have my own thoughts, which may be different from theirs. I practice in tandem with them — meaning I assess your risk, help fill gaps in nutrition, offer natural options, and support you from my lane. You remain under their medical care for delivery and primary obstetrics.

Recommended Naturopathic Prenatal Wellness Schedule (Virtual)

If you choose to consult with me, the app is included. This schedule outlines what we would cover together — all virtual.

Initial Prenatal Consultation (60 mins)

Complete prenatal and maternal health history. Risk assessment. Overview from positive pregnancy test to delivery.

Second Prenatal Consultation (45 mins)

Dietary and supplement recommendations. Natural options for nausea, fatigue, headaches, constipation, varicose veins, depression, and anxiety.

Week 13 — Second Trimester Follow-Up (30-45 mins)

Address first-trimester concerns. Recommendations to help prevent gestational diabetes and hypertension. Laboratory testing may be recommended.

Labour Preparation Support

Birth prep, essential oils for labor, hospital bag guidance, and postpartum planning.


A Note on My Role

I do not provide primary maternity care, deliver babies, or communicate with your primary obstetric provider. I work alongside them — in tandem, not in collaboration. I assess your risk, fill nutritional gaps, and offer natural support. You remain under their care for medical management and delivery.
